This document outlines the institutional study that was carried out as CRIDF1 was coming to an end in March 2017. The study aimed to review how CRIDF could become a sustainable facility in the long term by engaging with key stakeholders and identifying future options. The document offers discussion on the Southern African Development Community water sector, river basin organisations and bi-lateral donors and financers. The document then presents the principles that emerged from the institutional study and possible options for CRIDF moving forward.
