Ressano Garcia Border Town Water Supply and Sanitation

This project will provide climate resilient water supply and sanitation (WSS) to over 11,200 residents and up to 1 million cross-border travellers per year. It will improve health and hygiene, provide economic opportunities and build resilience to climate change.

Mwanza Border Town Water Supply and Sanitation

The Mwanza Border Town Water Supply and Sanitation (WSS) project will provide climate resilient water supply and sanitation to over 44,000 residents of Mwanza and up to 270,000 cross-border travellers per year. It will improve health and hygiene, reduce waterborne diseases, provide economic opportunities and build resilience to climate change.

Siavonga Border Town Water Supply and Sanitation

The project will provide water supply and sanitation (WSS) to 23,000 residents of Siavonga and an estimated 120,000 cross-border travellers per year. It will improve health outcomes, build resilience to climate change and provide economic opportunities.

Zobue Border Town Water Supply and Sanitation

The Zobue Border Town Water Supply and Sanitation (WSS) project will provide climate resilient water supply and sanitation to over 26,500 residents of Zobue and up to 270,000 cross-border travellers per year. It will improve health and hygiene, reduce waterborne diseases, provide economic opportunities and build resilience to climate change.

Kasumbalesa (Zambia) Border Town Water Supply and Sanitation

The project will provide climate resilient water supply and sanitation (WSS) to 17,000 residents of Kasumbalesa and neighbouring Konkola, and an estimated 500,000 cross-border travellers per year. It will improve health and hygiene, reduce waterborne diseases, provide economic opportunities and build resilience to climate change.

Chiponde Border Town Water Supply and Sanitation

The Chiponde Border Town Water Supply and Sanitation Project will provide water supply and sanitation (WSS) to 7,300 Chiponde residents and 30,000 cross-border travellers per year. The project will build climate resilience, improve health, reduce waterborne diseases and stimulate economic opportunities.

Mandimba Border Town Water Supply and Sanitation

The project will provide climate-resilient water supply and sanitation to over 27,000 residents of Mandimba, Mozambique, and 30,000 cross-border travellers. It will improve health and hygiene, reduce waterborne diseases, provide economic opportunities and build resilience to climate change.

Makonde Plateau Water Supply Scheme

The Makonde Plateau Water Supply Scheme will upgrade and rehabilitate water treatment and distribution systems to supply 500,000 people. The project investments are intended to improve social development and kick-start growth in the local economy, encourage cross-border economic activities and further develop a growing transport corridor in the region.

Songwe River Basin Development Programme

The Songwe River Basin Development Programme (SRBDP) aims to enhance adaptation to climate change, mitigate adverse environmental impacts on food production and capitalise on economic opportunities available in the Basin. It comprises 26 multi-sectoral projects.

The Lower Incomati Flood Risk Management Project

The Incomati Flood Risk Management Project will reduce flood and drought vulnerability for outgrowers, small farmers and 50,000 households in the Lower Incomati floodplain in Mozambique.

Lesotho-Botswana Water Transfer Scheme

The Lesotho-Botswana Water Transfer (L-BWT) Scheme will supply water to Botswana, Lesotho and South Africa from the Makhaleng Dam – part of the Lesotho Lowlands Water Supply Scheme – through a water conveyance pipeline of approximately 700 km in length from Lesotho, through South Africa, to Botswana.

Cubango-Okavango River Basin Fund

The Okavango Delta is globally recognised as a biologically rich and valuable ecosystem, as demonstrated by its status as a Wetland of International Importance (Ramsar site), UNESCO’s 1,000th World Heritage Site, and the centrepiece of Botswana’s vibrant tourism.
