Adapting to climate change in the Zambesi River Basin

The Zambesi River is a major watercourse in Southern Africa. Its transboundary basin covers eight countries within the Southern African Development Community: Angola, Botswana, Tanzania, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi and Mozambique. Working together through the Zambesi Watercourse Commission, these countries have developed a strategic plan to cooperatively manage and develop the Zambesi River and its tributaries over 22 years (2018 to 2040).
