Water for All series: Assessment of barriers to water access faced by women

This brochure examines women’s role as primary water collectors, assesses the barriers that prevent women from easily accessing water, and outlines how CRIDF can work to eliminate or reduce these barriers. The brochure examines the reasons behind inequitable access to water and how this impacts on the health, education and economic standing of women. With regard to CRIDF’s work, the brochure explains how involving women in decisions relating to water infrastructure can ensure that their needs are taken into account. It identifies that helping institutions to include women in the decision-making process is crucial for creating equitable access.
